The Butter Melts Out of Habit
We are so bitterly close to Valentine's Day we can taste the chocolates and smell the flowers. The indulgence and decadence we once reveled in, has lost some of its luster. I have also been surprised that the anti-valentine rhetoric has been silenced this year (or is this my lack of perception?). It appears that the latest batch of "gen-ers" has influenced society while transversing through the world, affecting a shift in how we as a society feel about relationships. These influencers may have also changed our ideas about celebrations and traditions, and especially about health and eating out. A lot of remarkable change has occurred over recent years.
However, since we are social animals, marketing techniques are magnified in relevance to our ridiculous brains. Marketing togetherness, happiness, and love work because our brains love to remind us of all the things we are doing wrong. Our brain loves to point out how unhappy we are or how lonely we feel. These feelings ultimately result in us falling for the distorted realities that encourage, perpetuate, and intensifies the feeling of loneliness or love. Nevertheless, keep in mind that these thoughts aren't necessarily reality. Fear, love, loneliness, anger are all emotions that can be very beneficial. Emotions are tools that we can use to navigate this reality, and they can become instrumental if we allow them.
