New Year Real You
"I'm not with the term ‘New Year New You.’ I feel it’s a part of the cultural lexicon that suggests you aren’t good enough and that you should keep trading your money for corporate products and your attention for social influence all based on the vampiric illusion of macro-tribal inclusion. It also makes us second guess our intuition. That keeps us feeling incomplete, which keeps us yearning, which keeps us stuck.
Not in 2018 my friends! In the final mini-hustle of 2017, I suggest embracing the term ‘New Year Real You’ as a reminder to listen to our intuition, follow our compass, pop the shackles of the illusion, and let out the whole you. You don’t need a ’new you.’ The actual you is awesome. Trust and love them. Fear of believing in yourself is just another symptom of living in a culture that’s set on making you feel inadequate. Let the real you out to play in 2018 and finger paint on the black and white walls of normalcy."
